1. Who we are
Lumi is an AI tutor for children, operated by HiPrep Limited ("HiPrep", "we", "us"). By using Lumi you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Who can use Lumi
Lumi is designed for children aged 6–16. A parent or legal guardian must create the account and grant consent to the processing of the child's learning data (age, grade, curriculum, diagnostic answers, lesson history, Ask Lumi messages).
3. What you pay for
Plans are described on our pricing page and billed via Paystack. The trial gives full access to the chosen paid tier for 7 days without a card; we do not charge anyone who doesn't opt in before day 8. Currency is NGN (Nigeria) or USD (elsewhere) — locked at checkout.
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Credits earned during the period remain usable until expiry. Refunds within 7 days of charge are pro-rated; nothing after 30 days.
4. AI-generated content
Lumi uses AI (currently Google Gemini and ElevenLabs) to produce lessons, quizzes, and Ask Lumi answers. Outputs can be wrong; children should check with a trusted adult for anything important. We enforce a four-layer safety stack but do not guarantee 100% accuracy or appropriateness.
5. Acceptable use
- Don't attempt to jailbreak or extract system prompts.
- Don't use Lumi to generate content for anyone else's use.
- Don't share Starter credentials across households — that's what Family is for.
6. Your content
Parent-entered "knowledge notes" and child lesson history belong to you. We store them for up to 24 months and you can request deletion at any time. We never sell this data.
7. Liability
Lumi is provided "as is". We're not liable for learning outcomes, device costs, or indirect damages. Maximum aggregate liability = the total paid to HiPrep in the 12 months before the claim.
8. Changes
Material changes will be emailed to account holders at least 14 days before taking effect.
